IT Park construction work starts in Ctg soon : Palak

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak today said construction work of Information Technology (IT) Park in Bakalia area in the city at a cost of TK 300 crore will begin soon.
He said the country’s first IT Park would be set up on 14 acres of land on the embankment of the Karnaphuli River soon.
“At the initial stage, construction work of IT village will be start at a cost of TK 40 crore and the IT Park would be set up at a cost of TK 300 core within next five years in phases to develop Chittagong as a full-fledged digital city” Palak said.
The state minister was inaugurating a 3-day Learning and Earning Fair-2016 on the city’s MA Aziz Stadium premise.
He said the project would create some 50 thousand employment opportunities for youths and help them earn money through freelance outsourcing.
Chittagong will become an outsourcing city like Bangalore of India after implementing the project, he added.
He said the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working to develop a talent-based economy instead of labour-based one.
Speaking at the function city Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said the declaration of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build an IT-based digital Bangladesh is being gradually implemented.
The IT Park would create employment opportunities for the youths of the region, he added.

Female lawmaker Waseka Ayesha Khan, divisional commissioner of Chittagong Ruhul Amin, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer council S M Asharaful Islam and Cluster Market Director of Robi Aziata Limited Nazir Ahmed were special guests at the ceremony, presided over by Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shamsul Arefin.
